Studio 107 was established April 9, 1992.  It all began in a small 10’ x 20’ foot room, in the basement of the Business Development Centre (Now called NABI), 13 Mission Avenue, St. Albert.  This was the incubator, in which the business started from the seed, to create, learn, and visualize what it could grow to be.  Studio 107 operated for almost two years in the Business Developement Center, to build enough strength to move on, to "graduate".  Below is a picture of that first location....

In 1994, Studio 107 relocated to Inglewood Drive, where the business grew, and matured.  The salon not only offered hair services, but also esthetics, massage therapy, and even tanning for a long while. It was one of the first of its kind, a one-stop-shop, that was all it needed to be for the community for that time.

The first larger tranformation that happened was in about 2000, when tanning moved out of the salon. "We were an Aveda Family salon at the time, and Aveda wouldn't let us keep tanning along with their produt line, and gave me 18 months to make the neccessary changes. That's when the idea spawn.  Tanning turned into a seperate business, Just Beachin' Tanning, just upstairs",  now owned and operated by Diane's sister Carmen.   There were many renovations over the years, trying to be all that it needed to be over the years, until we needed to make this last move-to it's permanent home.

In February 2009,  we moved to our current location - almost across the street from where we were for those 15 years. (New address #20-585 St. Albert Trail - beside Servus Credit Union). Diane along with her husband Dave, purchased the space, and the salon rents it from themselves. "With the cost of rent going up at least 30% in 2009 in the former location, it was the only option we could live with". So, with that, Diane saught out space that would be suitable, and convenient for their existing clients, and designed the space that you will see them at today. "I wanted it to feel alot like spaces in New York City. Alot like a B&B that we stay when we go to the Big Apple. A new space...transformed into an older looking space, that looks remodeled. You'll have to see it to understand. Old looking brick, open ceiling, hardwood floors, chandaleirs....charm". 

"I am an entrepreneur, with a passion for  hairstyling. Or is it that I am a hairstylist, with a passion for entrepreneurship. Regardless,  I am very grateful to be doing both, as I am enjoying it even more now, than ever".   

The salon has undergone many transformations, many changes, trying with all my might, to offer you the best atmosphere, the best products, and of course, the best service.
